It was Saturday in Cloverleaf Corners.  Margaret and Halley ate breakfast on the patio outside.  Margaret wiped blueberries off Halley's hands and picked up her juice.  "CLASH, CLATTER, CRASH!"  "Oh my, will your brother and father survive while we go shopping today?" cried out Margaret.

"Piers, please listen to me.  I need you to help your father today.  Please be good.  I am taking Halley shopping.  And don't forget to work on your science project for school."

Margaret put Halley in the carriage.  The two were on their way to Cloverleaf Village to shop.  Each time Margaret passed a neighbour's house, she waved to say hello.

"Let's see, where can we go?" whispered Margaret.  Halley curiously looked up at her from the pink baby carriage.  Margaret hummed merrily along the way.  Her mind wandered.  She wondered if Brie Norwood still worked at The Honey Bee Clover dress shop.  She hoped so.

Margaret pushed the carriage into the store.  Halley started giggling.  "Well, hello my dear friend Meg,"  Brie said cheerfully.  "I would love to help you find what you are looking for."

Meg's eyes brightened as she gazed at racks of sweet dresses.  Halley began to squirm.  Meg's baby girl wanted to be in her mother's arms.  She picked her up and gave her a hug and a kiss.

"We are looking for a Birthday Party dress," explained Meg.  Brie replied, "I have the dress for you!"  She held up the powder blue dress for her friend.  "What do you think?" asked Brie.  "I will try it, but are you sure it is my size?" asked Meg. "Let me quickly measure you," said Brie.  Meg could not wait to try the dress.

After a few minutes, she walked out of the dressing room to show Brie.  Brie said, "It's adorable.  I will hem it about one inch."  Meg wondered how her friend always knew what she was thinking.  Brie went on to say, "Halley picked this dress for herself while you were in the dressing room.  She kept pulling the blue bow."  The baby's eyes opened a little wider.  Halley reached up and tried grabbing the dress one more time.  Brie and Meg laughed.  "She must like it," said Meg.  "I think so," Brie agreed.  "Maybe she would like to try it on."

Meg turned from side to side looking at the beautiful dress in the mirror while Brie dressed Halley.  Looking prettier than ever, Halley giggled in excitement.  "It looks like Halley likes her dress as much as I like mine," Meg said.  "Halley, would you like to wear that dress to the party?" she asked.  With a smile and a nod the decision was final.  "We will take both dresses!"

Meg gave Brie a big hug.  "Brie, you are so special to Halley and me.  Thank you for helping us today.  Will we see you at the birthday party?" asked Meg.  "Of course, I would not miss it," replied Brie.
