Mother Rikki Mason hummed softly as she pushed her shopping cart through the aisles of the Cloverleaf Corners Country Store.  "The store is quite busy today," she said as she opened a package of crackers and handed it to her daughter Magnolia.  "It's a good thing we got here when we did."

Magnolia nodded her head then busied herself with her morning snack.

"Hello there neighbour," Rikki called when she noticed Sebastian Whiskers stocking milk bottles on a shelf.  Sebastian works at the local dairy farm.  He delivers milk to the grocery store every morning.

"Have a good day," Rikki said as she waved to Sebastian and started up the next aisle.

"I'll try," Sebastian called after her.  "I know you'll have a very good day."

Rikki smiled when she saw Dorothy Dalmatian dusting a canned goods display.  Dorothy works at the grocery store two mornings a week.

"It's nice to see you," Rikki said.

"It's even nicer to see you," Dorothy replied.  She smiled mysteriously at Rikki and winked at Magnolia before returning to her work.

"Everyone sure is in a good mood today," Rikki said to Magnolia as she placed her items on the checkout counter.

"Congratulations Rikki," Sorrel Cottontail said when she finished ringing up Rikki's purchases.  Sorrel is the best cashier at the grocery store.

"Congratulations!  For what?" Rikki asked.  She looked curiously at the shoppers who had crowded around her.

"Today is the store's fiftieth anniversary," Sorrel explained.  "And you are our fiftieth customer of the day!"  She handed Magnolia a bright red balloon and smiled at Rikki.  "You should be happy because today ALL your groceries are free."

"Wow, what a great surprise!  Sebastian was right," Rikki said as she patted Magnolia on the head.  "This is a very good day."
